College credit courses through Truman State University come with extra benefits. While college credit is its own reward, Truman wants our partners and their students to have the support needed for success beyond the individual course. These services include:
- Special Training Tools for Online Learning Success
While many colleges (such as Truman) teach most of their classes during the regular school year in a physical classroom, many summer classes are taught online and most college students take at least one course online by the time they graduate. We provide orientation modules that help you learn the strategies that will lead to more success when you have an online course. - Webinars on the College Search and Strategies for College Success
Whether you plan to attend Truman or not, many of the same principles apply to success in the college search process wherever you apply. Future webinars and on-demand videos will discuss strategies for success in the college search and application process – along with some specific tips that can help you when you apply to Truman. Further videos will focus on strategies to be successful in college courses, which are often more challenging than the classes you are used to taking in high school. - Guidance to Maximize the Benefit of Course Selections
Every year high school students spend money on dual credit and dual enrollment courses that later do not meet requirements for graduation at the college in which they enroll. *Our staff can help you select courses that will fulfill requirements common throughout Missouri, and commonly needed at other colleges and universities. We can also help you visualize how certain course selections would apply to your academic program if you enroll at Truman. - Full Access to the Truman Network and Library
When you are a Truman student, you can access the full resources of the Truman library and the inter-library loan network. You also have access to Truman’s campus network, including a Truman student email.
*Truman cannot make guarantees about how a course will count at another college or university. Students are always advised to consult the Registrar at a university they wish to attend before selecting a course. Truman will provide advice based on Missouri’s CORE42 and state transfer library.
